Joiner comes to the cage accompanied by Whats the Difference. Cockenschtuff has chosen Wynona's Big Brown Beaver by Primus as his entrance music. Lester Cockenschtuff has the better chin. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
29 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Alvin Joiner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lester Cockenschtuff! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cockenschtuff takes one on the button. Cockenschtuff blocks a head kick by Joiner.
A good leg kick by Cockenschtuff. Joiner avoids the head kick by Cockenschtuff.
Cockenschtuff uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Joiner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cockenschtuff sprawls well initially but Joiner persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cockenschtuff keeping control of the position. Joiner trying to mount his opponent but Cockenschtuff defends it. Joiner works his foot free and advances to mount.

Joiner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cockenschtuff is looking to escape. Cockenschtuff avoids a series of strikes thrown by Joiner.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joiner throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Joiner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Joiner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Joiner is landing with some decent strikes but Cockenschtuff is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Joiner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cockenschtuff is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Joiner breaks from Cockenschtuff's wrist control and lands an elbow. Joiner trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Cockenschtuff wants to hold on but Joiner pushes him away. Joiner punching from mount but Cockenschtuff doing a good job of avoiding damage. Joiner throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Cockenschtuff tries to lock up and control but Joiner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Cockenschtuff is squirming around, avoiding Joiner's attempts to control the action. Joiner throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cockenschtuff is looking to improve his position but Joiner isn't that keen on the idea. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Joiner controlling the pace for now. Joiner throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Joiner controlling his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joiner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cockenschtuff rushes Joiner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Cockenschtuff manages to break the clinch.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Joiner here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Joiner swats away the attempt to clinch by Cockenschtuff. Joiner misses with a head kick.
Cockenschtuff throws a low kick but Joiner avoids it. Cockenschtuff needs to keep his hands up - Joiner had a free shot at his head there. Joiner tries to close the distance and clinch but Cockenschtuff swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cockenschtuff throws a nice inside leg kick. Cockenschtuff looks to throw the jab but Joiner is out of range. Joiner checks a leg kick nicely. Joiner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cockenschtuff swivels and escapes. Cockenschtuff throws a looping overhand right but Joiner ducks down to avoid it. Joiner tries to close the distance and clinch but Cockenschtuff swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Joiner takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joiner is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Joiner rushes Cockenschtuff and presses him up against the cage. Joiner has a couple of punches blocked by Cockenschtuff.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Joiner. Cockenschtuff throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Joiner on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Cockenschtuff is struggling to control the position. Cockenschtuff lands a nice shot to the body. Joiner takes a knee to the side of the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cockenschtuff comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Alvin Joiner has been cut. Joiner blocks the elbow strike.
Cockenschtuff tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Cockenschtuff lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Cockenschtuff is leaning against Joiner and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Cockenschtuff pushes Joiner back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joiner blocks a body shot from Cockenschtuff. Cockenschtuff with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Joiner's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Cockenschtuff lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Cockenschtuff lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Cockenschtuff breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cockenschtuff scores with a nice strike. A low kick from Cockenschtuff misses and Joiner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Cockenschtuff looking for a sweep. Not yet Cockenschtuff, not yet. Joiner tries to free his leg and advance position but Cockenschtuff is retaining full guard. Cockenschtuff trying to keep a closed guard but Joiner is proving a slippery customer.
Joiner trying to control but Cockenschtuff is working from the bottom. Joiner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joiner with a flurry of punches that miss. Cockenschtuff avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Cockenschtuff keeping full guard, as Joiner tries to pass. Cockenschtuff working a defensive guard here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Cockenschtuff avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lester Cockenschtuff was stalling too much, according to the referee. A looping hook to the body misses from Cockenschtuff. Joiner does a little dance to reset his feet. Joiner doesn't manage to clinch there - Cockenschtuff circles away.
Cockenschtuff closes the distance and clinches. A quick uppercut on the inside from Cockenschtuff. Cockenschtuff lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Joiner. Cockenschtuff scores with a nice hook to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Joiner misses with a short punch on the inside. Nice body punch from Cockenschtuff - that landed with a thud.
Cockenschtuff breaks the clinch.
Cockenschtuff throws a leg kick which misses Joiner's front leg but catches the back leg as Joiner tries to avoid it. Cockenschtuff cracks Joiner with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Joiner tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Cockenschtuff pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Joiner is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
