The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas moves forwards but Staal connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Staal doesn't manage to clinch there - Douglas circles away.
Staal moves out of range as Douglas throws a body kick.
Douglas misses with a few strikes there.
Douglas takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Douglas throws a good cross that connects.
Douglas lands a nice shot to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Douglas lands a leg kick that knocks Staal off balance momentarily.
Douglas on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Staal. Staal obviously looking to wear him down.
Douglas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Douglas blocks the body kick.
Staal bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Douglas's head backwards.
Staal looks for the body kick but Douglas saw that one coming.
Staal misses with a low kick.

Staal wants to land a leg kick but Douglas is out of range.
Staal lands with a kick to the ribs.
Staal chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Douglas works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Staal misses with a head kick.
Staal sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Staal is breathing heavily.

Douglas lands a nice hook to Staal's body. Staal takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Douglas throws a head kick but Staal moves out of range.
Douglas connects with the punch.
It looks like John Staal has been cut.
Douglas throws a nice looking combination but Staal bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A solid body kick from Douglas.

Douglas is looking to slow Staal down with leg kicks.
Douglas cracks Staal with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Douglas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Staal to stand back up!
Staal is rocked!
Staal is holding his hands too far apart here. Douglas throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Staal is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
