Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lingad throws a shot from downtown. Spies moves away and avoids it.
Horrible takedown by Spies or perhaps it was just good defense by Lingad which made him look bad.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Spies's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Spies missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lingad is trying to control the position but Spies postures up.

August Spies dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Spies is looking to pass Lingad's guard but actually Lingad recovers to full guard.
Spies distracts Lingad with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lingad is on top in guard.
Spies wants to sweep but no luck.
Spies avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lingad stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spies swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lingad wants to control from the top but Spies keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Spies tries for a takedown but Lingad sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
August Spies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spies stuns Lingad with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Lingad shoots in for a double leg but Spies sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Spies is desperately trying to improve his position but Lingad has a good base and remains in mount.

Lingad has hold of Spies's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Spies manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Lingad misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Spies is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Spies tries to reverse the position but Lingad maintains control.

Lingad takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lingad cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Lingad wants to finish this one by submission but Spies is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lingad.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Lingad throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lingad closes the distance and clinches up with Spies, looking for a takedown. Lingad pushes Spies against the cage but Spies circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lingad is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Spies's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Spies's back!

Spies is looking to advance position but Lingad has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Lingad cracks Spies with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Spies tries to improve his position but Lingad has taken his back! Lingad has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Spies tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Lingad pushes Spies away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
