Batts comes to the cage accompanied by Pro-pain - Make war (not love) . Kato has chosen STILL BALLIN as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Billy Batts has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Batts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sun Kato!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kato crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Batts - the referee stops the clock and Kato gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Batts. Kato manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Batts fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kato checks it well.
Kato pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A punch combination from Batts misses.
Kato lands a head kick. Batts smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
An inside leg kick from Kato misses.

Batts clinches.
Batts scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Batts content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kato misses with a hook to the ribs.
Batts tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Batts tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kato's elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Batts lands with a light punch inside.
Batts softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Batts blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
A nice right hand lands inside from Kato.
Kato swings wildly with an uppercut but Batts uses good head movement to avoid it.
Batts tries to work over Kato's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Batts lands an uppercut.
Batts pushes Kato back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Batts lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Kato misses with a body punch.
Batts prevents a body shot from Kato.
A short right from Kato on the inside.
Kato tries to stall but Batts uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Batts blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kato tries a knee to the head but Batts blocks it.
Batts lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Batts scores with a nice short uppercut.
Batts fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Kato wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Batts has him pressed against the cage.
Batts scores with a shot to the side of Kato's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kato has a couple of punches blocked by Batts.
Batts goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Nice body punch from Batts.
Batts lands with a light punch inside.


Kato is rocked!
Batts lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Kato is still on wobbly legs! Can Batts finish him?
Kato tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Batts's elbow.
Batts dips a shoulder and cracks Kato with a mighty uppercut! Kato falls back against the cage and Batts unloads with a barrage of strikes! Kato is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Batts screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy Batts!
Billy Batts looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'Eh, Eh - looks like this sun has set.'.
