Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kfier Asher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and How Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kfier Asher! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, How Long! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Long keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Asher fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Asher shoots in looking for a takedown. Long tries to sprawl out of it but Asher keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Long manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kfier Asher. That's going to take a lot out of him. Long fails with an attempt to clinch.
Asher shoots in but Long avoids the takedown attempt easily. Asher shoots in but no luck this time. Long wants to clinch up but Asher keeps it at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Long tries to clinch up but Asher circles away and keeps his distance. Asher shoots in for a takedown. That's one minute gone in the round. Long shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Long showed some decent athleticism there. Long wants to stand up but Asher has a hold of him and won't allow it. Asher is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest. Asher is looking to get back to full guard here but Long has managed to pass to side control instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Long stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Asher is breathing heavily. Long moves into the clinch. Asher wants a takedown but no success here.

Asher takes an elbow to the temple. Long with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Asher is working for takedown but Long is calmly controlling the position for now. Long with a knee to the head.
Asher is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Long pulls him back up using the underhooks. Asher has Long pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Asher pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Long tumbling to the mat - Asher dives into Long's guard. Long keeping full guard, as Asher tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Asher trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Long manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Asher is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Asher working a defensive guard but Long manages to pass into side control anyway.
Asher throws a few strikes from the bottom but Long takes advantage and mounts!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Asher is desperately trying to improve his position but Long has a good base and remains in mount. Long is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Asher reaches up to try and control the position but Long seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Asher rolls and tries to escape and now Long has his back!

Long tries to keep control of the position but Asher is staying busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
How Long dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Asher misses with a wild combination.
Asher closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Long to the mat! Long manages to get full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Asher accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Long keeping moving, preventing Asher from controlling successfully. Asher postures up in Long's guard and throws a big left but Long blocks it. Long wants to get back to his feet but Asher is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Asher wants to pass the guard but Long is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Long preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Asher throws a strike but Long rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Long tries to stand but Asher is controlling from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Asher with a lazy takedown attempt so Long counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Asher is trying to control the position but Long postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Long decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Asher, up you get! Long tries to clinch but Asher moves out of range. Asher tries to clinch but Long is having none of it. Asher with a lazy takedown attempt and Long counters by clinching up. Long lands an elbow inside. Asher takes a knee right on the jaw!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kfier Asher. That's going to take a lot out of him. Long misses with a knee to the head. Asher avoiding damage as Long throws knees to the body.
Long lands a damaging elbow. Asher is trying to trip Long. He has hold of a leg but Long is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Asher persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Asher loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Long is looking to stand up but Asher isn't so interested in that idea. Asher has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Asher trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Asher sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Long's guard. Long is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Asher scores with a couple of nice shots. Long is trying to stand.
Asher lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Still in half guard, Asher seems content to control. Asher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Long keeps working. Long blocking the ground and pound attempt from Asher.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Asher thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Long's head. Long regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Asher. Asher scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Asher slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Asher scores with punches from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Kfier Asher will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Asher throws a combination that misses and Long counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Long. Asher has clasped his hands together around Long's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Asher prevents Long from escaping the position. Asher in side control, throwing shots but Long defends. Long is trying to buck Asher off. Asher lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Long down.
Long is not content to let Asher control the position. Long takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Asher is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Long is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's one minute gone in the round. The strikes coming from Asher are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Asher is looking to take a break and control but Long is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Long is trying to buck Asher off. Asher cracks Long with an elbow. That is naaassty.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Asher creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Long sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Long wants to clinch and Asher counters by moving into the clinch. Asher on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

How Long has got the better of the ground game so far. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Long stopping the sweep attempt from Asher. Asher on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Asher tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Asher is working hard here to advance position. Long gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Asher instigates a clinch. Asher drops down looking for an ankle pick but Long pulls his leg out and moves away.
Long shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Long was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Long get's back to his feet.

Long is trying to keep an underhook but Asher manages to get the takedown into half guard. Asher seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Long does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Asher lands a big shot. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Long decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Long darts in trying to clinch and Asher counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Long is looking to stand up but Asher isn't so interested in that idea. Asher postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close fourth round but I would say that Kfier Asher will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Long tries to clinch but fails miserably and Asher counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Asher. Asher stops Long from standing up. Asher throws and elbow that misses. Long uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Asher's guard. Nice move by Long! Asher tries to land a sweep but no joy. Asher wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Asher is trying to control the position but Long postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Asher looking to hit a scissor sweep but Long is one step ahead there. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. The crowd cheers as Asher lands an impressive looking overhand right. Long doesn't seem phased though. Asher tries for a takedown but Long circles away easily and Long counters with a single leg into guard. Asher didn't expect that. Long wants to stand and escape but instead Asher has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Long kicks Asher off and gets to his feet. Long tries to clinch but Asher moves away and Asher counters with a shoot takedown. Long fights it but they end up in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Asher postures up in Long's guard and throws a big left but Long blocks it. Asher landing with the ground and pound. Long has momentary wrist control but Asher slips an elbow through the middle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Long keeping moving, preventing Asher from controlling successfully. Asher looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Asher stops Long from standing up. Asher showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Asher loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Asher lands a couple of decent looking shots. Long is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Asher is controlling him. Asher with a flurry of punches that miss. Asher looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
