Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitsuomi Sakata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakata comes to the cage accompanied by Ketsunoke vs Shirinoke by Gintama OST. Santiago is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Baauer - Harlem Shake. Jorge Santiago has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mitsuomi Sakata!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jorge Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakata swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sakata throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sakata throws a body punch but Santiago moves out of range.
A left and a right from Santiago both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Mitsuomi Sakata has been cut.
Sakata takes one to the side of the head.
Santiago defending well as Sakata loads up on a big left hand.
Santiago moves away from the strike by Sakata.
Santiago bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Santiago just misses with a punch to the body.
Santiago dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sakata wants to land a leg kick but Santiago is out of range.
Sakata tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sakata throws a body kick that misses.
Santiago blocks a leg kick.
Sakata misses with a hook. Santiago ducked under it nicely.
Sakata takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sakata stalks Santiago and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Santiago's face. Santiago staggers backwards, shaken.
Sakata tries to land a body kick
and Santiago finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Sakata is breathing heavily.

Sakata throws a hook but Santiago avoids it easily.
Sakata lands a nice shot to the body.
Sakata looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sakata sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

and Santiago counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Santiago tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Santiago throws an elbow but Sakata slips to the side and avoids it well.

Sakata is trying to control but can't.

Santiago is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sakata has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sakata wants to improve his position but Santiago is controlling well.

Santiago is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sakata is looking for a sweep. Santiago is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Santiago sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sakata defending well though.
Santiago has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Santiago with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sakata to score with a decent uppercut.
Jorge Santiago seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Santiago counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Santiago misses with a low kick as Sakata jumps back.
Sakata pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sakata turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Santiago walks forward, straight into a front kick from Sakata.
Santiago fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sakata.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Santiago lands with a nice body kick.
Sakata takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Santiago takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sakata throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sakata jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sakata throws a head kick but Santiago moves out of range.
Sakata waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Santiago.
Sakata throws a shot from downtown. Santiago moves away and avoids it.
Mitsuomi Sakata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Santiago counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santiago wants to control from the top but Sakata keeps moving.

That kick from Sakata tenderised Santiago's leg. Santiago is trying to keep his angry face on.

Jorge Santiago showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Sakata's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Sakata gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Santiago to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Santiago looking to sit in guard and control but Sakata gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Santiago is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sakata defends well.
Santiago manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Sakata wants to hold on but Santiago pushes him away.

Santiago swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Sakata is now in Santiago's guard. A big mistake from Santiago there, giving up the dominant position!

Santiago looking for a triangle here. Sakata is fighting it but it looks tight! Santiago pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Sakata is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jorge Santiago!
