Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ron Burgundy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Konrad Kurze! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kurze tests Burgundy's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kurze wants to land a leg kick but Burgundy is out of range. Kurze with a jab. Burgundy gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kurze. Burgundy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kurze was well out of range. Poor timing from Burgundy. Kurze swings for the body but Burgundy moves out of range.
Burgundy gets in close and instigates a clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Kurze. A short right from Burgundy on the inside. Kurze lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Kurze tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Burgundy creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. A nice left hand lands by Burgundy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kurze can't find room to land a body shot as Burgundy controls the action.

Kurze is trying to pull guard but Burgundy has him pressed against the cage. Kurze is trying to pull guard but Burgundy turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Kurze jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Burgundy walks away with a smile on his face. Kurze gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Ron Burgundy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Konrad Kurze. Kurze closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kurze lands in his opponent's guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Burgundy keeping moving, preventing Kurze from controlling successfully. Kurze trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kurze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burgundy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Burgundy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kurze throws a big elbow that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kurze postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Burgundy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kurze wants to control from the top but Burgundy keeps moving. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kurze works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kurze trying to control the action but Burgundy is working from the bottom. Kurze thows a huge punch but Burgundy dodges it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Burgundy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kurze has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kurze is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Burgundy sees it coming and defends easily. Kurze missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Burgundy gets full guard. Kurze throws a big elbow that misses. Burgundy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kurze is controlling him. Kurze wants to pass the guard but Burgundy is keeping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kurze is looking to work some ground and pound but Burgundy has wrist control. Kurze wants to control from the top but Burgundy keeps moving. Burgundy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kurze throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Burgundy works some decent striking defense from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burgundy wants to stand but Kurze is controlling the position. Kurze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burgundy swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kurze looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burgundy is fending him off so far but Kurze persists. Nope, Burgundy circles away and we're back to standing. Ron Burgundy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kurze keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Burgundy jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kurze. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Kurze scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Burgundy avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kurze. Kurze trying to control the position but Burgundy is working away. Kurze working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kurze wants to control but Burgundy is keeping him busy. Sloppy strikes there by Kurze.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kurze throws a strike aimed at the side of Burgundy's head but Burgundy avoids it well. Burgundy prevents Kurze from moving into mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kurze connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Burgundy some visible discomfort.
Konrad Kurze has got the better of the ground game so far. Kurze goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Burgundy rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kurze's guard! Nice work there by Burgundy! Burgundy trying to control the position from guard on top but Kurze is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Burgundy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Burgundy is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kurze looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Burgundy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kurze's guard. Kurze is trying to get back to full guard. Kurze is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Kurze actively working from the bottom here. This has been an exciting period of action! Burgundy keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Kurze is pressing down on Burgundy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Kurze looking for a sweep. Not yet Kurze, not yet. Burgundy trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kurze's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burgundy looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Burgundy stands up from guard. Let's bang! Burgundy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kurze fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Burgundy sprawls well initially but Kurze persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Kurze seems to be looking for submissions.

The fighters are battling for position here. Burgundy manages to regain full guard. Nice work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burgundy takes a swing at Kurze's ribcage but misses. Burgundy is looking to wear down Kurze with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Kurze ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Burgundy misses with a hook to the body
and Kurze counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Burgundy's guard now. Kurze trying to control but Burgundy is working from the bottom. Kurze missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Burgundy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kurze throws a strike but Burgundy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Kurze is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Burgundy defends well. Burgundy stopping the sweep attempt from Kurze.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burgundy looking to pass the guard. Kurze bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burgundy's guard. Kurze missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Burgundy keeping moving, preventing Kurze from controlling successfully. Kurze loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kurze trying to control but Burgundy is working from the bottom. Kurze postures up.
Konrad Kurze is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Burgundy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kurze manages to avoid it. Kurze throws a poor cross that misses
and Burgundy counters with a nice body shot. Burgundy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kurze throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kurze scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Kurze throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kurze closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kurze wants to control but Burgundy is keeping him busy. Kurze might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Burgundy haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Kurze is staying tight to Burgundy's torso, preventing him from escaping. Ron Burgundy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Konrad Kurze wasn't active enough on the ground. Burgundy throws an off balance right hand
and Kurze counters with a nice double leg into side control. Burgundy won't be happy with that. Burgundy is being controlled here. Kurze wants to control but Burgundy is keeping him busy. You can see the frustration on Burgundy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kurze trying to control the action but Burgundy is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burgundy being controlled for a moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Konrad Kurze comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Kurze winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
