Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josh Ring! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fidel Bautista! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice jab there from Ring. Bautista throws a lazy right hand but Ring sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ring takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
It looks like Josh Ring has been cut. Ring keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Ring tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bautista was well out of range. Poor timing from Ring. Bautista connects with a single shot there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ring looks to land a left hand but Bautista moved out of range nicely. Nice body punch from Ring. Ring scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Ring avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Bautista misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ring.
Ring on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Bautista bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Bautista walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Josh Ring seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ring avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Bautista fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ring is out of range. Ring takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Ring lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Ring throws a hook but Bautista blocks it. Bautista drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Bautista throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ring counters with a left to the body. Bautista cracks Ring with an uppercut from hell and Ring crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Bautista's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Ring is rocked!
Josh Ring's cut is getting worse. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bautista loads up on a big left hand. Ring felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Bautista looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Ring can't hide his disappointment, as Bautista celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fidel Bautista! Fidel Bautista decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
