Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Walter Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Karate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bishop comes to the cage accompanied by teenagers. Karate has chosen M83 - Kim & Jesse as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ed Karate was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Walter Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ed Karate!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karate lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bishop at a distance.
Karate misses with a takedown attempt - Bishop sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bishop takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
We've been hearing reports that Bishop has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Bishop takes the fight into the clinch.

Bishop wants the takedown. Karate is fighting it off but Bishop persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Karate's guard against the cage.
Karate seems keen to control Bishop's posture.

Bishop has Karate pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Karate manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Bishop tries to score a body lock takedown but Karate shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Karate has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bishop is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Karate's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bishop connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Karate scrambles back to his feet.

Bishop takes the fight into the clinch.

Bishop has Karate pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bishop pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Karate tumbling to the mat - Bishop dives into Karate's guard.
Karate manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bishop manages to get himself to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Bishop moves in looking to clinch but Karate pushes him off.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ed Karate hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Karate throws a jab but it's blocked by Bishop.
Bishop wants to clinch up but Karate keeps it at a distance.
Bishop throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bishop tries to clinch but Karate is having none of it.

Bishop throws a sloppy head kick and Karate moves out of range easily.

Bishop closes the distance and clinches.

Bishop pulls Karate into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bishop is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karate has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Karate is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Karate looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Karate works his foot free and advances to mount.

Bishop is trying to escape the mount.
Karate tries to control but Bishop wriggling away.
Karate working the ground and pound effectively.
Karate takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Karate wants to control the pace but Bishop is squirming around nicely.
Karate fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Bishop shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Karate dodges the punch combination from Bishop.
Bishop throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Bishop takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Karate throws a lazy right hand but Bishop sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Oh Bishop is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Karate throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Karate throws a right and a left that Bishop avoids nicely.
Bishop steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Karate.
Karate looks to land a left hand but Bishop moved out of range nicely.
Karate throws a jab when Bishop was well out of range.
Some wild striking there from Karate.
Karate misses with a straight left.
Karate misses with a jab, cross combination.
Karate missing with a left hand there. Bishop was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Karate tries to bum rush Bishop with a series of wild strikes but Bishop uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Karate might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Karate throws a jab when Bishop was well out of range.
Bishop tries to clinch up
and Karate rattles Bishop with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Bishop tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Karate dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Bishop stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ed Karate!
