Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kari Runk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Payton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kari Runk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Walter Payton! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Runk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Payton pinned against the cage. Payton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Runk wants to clinch up but Payton keeps it at a distance. Runk looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Payton fails with the takedown and Runk counters with a single leg into guard. Payton didn't expect that. Payton wants to sweep here but Runk controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Payton punching to the body, from the bottom. Payton working for a triangle but Runk defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Payton throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Payton trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Runk darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Runk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Payton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Runk is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Runk trying to control the action but Payton is working from the bottom. Runk wants to pass to mount but Payton is defending the position. Runk is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Payton doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Runk.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Payton tries to roll over but Runk keeps him under control. Payton gets back to full guard.
Runk tries to free his leg and advance position but Payton is retaining full guard. Runk is breathing heavily.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Runk slips a straight right by Payton. Payton tries to clinch but Runk moves away and Runk decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Payton's guard. Payton working for a triangle but Runk defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Runk has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Payton is proving hard to escape from. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Runk preventing the sweep. Payton is looking for a triangle but Runk pushes his legs off easily.
Runk thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Runk working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Payton had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Runk is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Payton Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Runk's back instead. Payton has the hooks in. Runk is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Can Runk hold on?! Payton is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Payton is not going to allow Runk to sit and survive in this position. Payton softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Runk is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Payton.

Runk won't allow Payton to sweep him here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Payton can do anything to dispel that myth. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Payton is squirming around, avoiding Runk's attempts to control the action. Runk wants to finish this one by submission but Payton is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Runk. Payton slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Payton is refusing to be controlled, as Runk sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Payton works his way to full guard. Good work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Payton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Payton goes for an armbar but Runk turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Runk. Runk tries to free his leg and advance position but Payton is retaining full guard. Payton looking for a sweep. Not yet Payton, not yet. Runk looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Payton is looking for a triangle but Runk pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Runk won't allow Payton to sweep him here. Payton had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Runk defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard. Runk chips away with some ground and pound. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Payton is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Payton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Runk holds on and takes a little breather. Payton throws a big right hand that misses. Payton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Runk is trying to control the position but Payton postures up. Payton is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Runk preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Payton trying to control the position from guard on top but Runk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Payton throws a right hand that Runk ducks under and follows up with a left that Runk also avoids with ease.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Runk fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Payton, pushing him back against the cage. Payton lands with a right to the head. Payton lands a left hand that snaps the head of Runk backwards. A hook to the body from Payton.
Runk is working for takedown but Payton is calmly controlling the position for now. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Payton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Runk gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Payton jumps guard but Runk stands there with Payton around his waist. Payton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Payton. Payton stalling in the clinch but Runk improves position. Payton tries a knee to the head but Runk blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kari Runk dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Payton. No joy for Runk on that attempt. Payton tries to clinch and Runk counters with a nice double leg into side control. Payton won't be happy with that. Runk looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Payton gets back to half guard. Payton is doing well to control the position and prevent Runk from advancing to side control. Payton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Payton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Payton manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Payton is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Runk can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Payton controlling his opponent. Payton with the ground and pound from mount. Runk in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Runk is bucking up trying to escape but Payton cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Payton connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Payton looking to control but Runk is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Payton has control of Runk's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Runk regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Payton breaks from Runk's wrist control and lands an elbow. Payton throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Runk because Payton loaded up on that one. Runk keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Payton landing strikes from the mount and Runk is in trouble! Runk wants to control but Payton is having none of it. Payton has hold of Runk's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Runk manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Walter Payton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Payton lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Walter Payton. I think Runk has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
