Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vasiliy Shishkanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Patrushev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shishkanov comes to the cage accompanied by Digital Farm Animals - Home. Sergei Patrushev is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vasiliy Shishkanov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergei Patrushev! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Patrushev. Patrushev fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shishkanov sprawls well initially but Patrushev persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Shishkanov keeping hold of Patrushev's head, controlling as best he can. Patrushev seems to be working for a kimura but Shishkanov defends the submission attempt. Patrushev wants to work for an arm triangle but Shishkanov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Patrushev is looking for a kimura but Shishkanov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Patrushev to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patrushev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shishkanov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Patrushev is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shishkanov keeping moving, preventing Patrushev from controlling successfully.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sergei Patrushev wasn't active enough on the ground. Patrushev takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Shishkanov lands a jab to the nose.
It looks like Sergei Patrushev has been cut. Shishkanov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sergei Patrushev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shishkanov misses with a looping right. Patrushev keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shishkanov misses the jab. Shishkanov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Vasiliy Shishkanov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergei Patrushev. Patrushev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shishkanov swivels and escapes. Patrushev shoots in for a takedown but Shishkanov shows good takedown defense. Patrushev bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Patrushev is defended easily by Shishkanov. Patrushev shoots in but Shishkanov avoids the takedown attempt easily. Shishkanov lands with an uppercut that bounces Patrushev off the cage and back into range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shishkanov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Patrushev's hands. Patrushev swings for the body but Shishkanov moves out of range.
Shishkanov drops Patrushev with a big left hand and mounts him. Patrushev is in big trouble!
Patrushev is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Patrushev wants to hold on but Shishkanov pushes him away. Patrushev is still in real trouble! Can Shishkanov finish him? Patrushev can't escape the position.
Shishkanov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Patrushev is working to get back to half guard.
Patrushev seems to have recovered his senses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shishkanov content just to control the position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Vasiliy Shishkanov just wasn't active enough. Patrushev darts in looking for a takedown but Shishkanov gets double underhooks and turns Patrushev into the cage. Shishkanov manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Patrushev wants to take the fight to the mat but Shishkanov manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Shishkanov stops a takedown attempt from Patrushev.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Shishkanov for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. A hook to the body from Shishkanov.

Nice takedown defense from Shishkanov. No joy for Patrushev on that attempt. We've been told by Shishkanov's head coaches at Wake and Bake that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Shishkanov tries to bum rush Patrushev with a series of wild strikes but Patrushev uses good footwork to avoid the assault. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrushev tries to move to mount but Shishkanov blocks the move with his legs. Patrushev is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shishkanov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Patrushev goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Shishkanov rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Patrushev's guard! Nice work there by Shishkanov!

Shishkanov rushes Patrushev with punches - Patrushev moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Patrushev goes down! Shishkanov follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

A very excited looking Vasiliy Shishkanov made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
