Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christian Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nolan comes to the cage accompanied by Down - Stone the Crow. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christian Nolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nolan throws out a leg kick but Thompson moves out of range and Nolan only half commits.
Nolan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nolan bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Thompson's head backwards.
Christian Nolan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nolan circles away.
Thompson shoots in and drives through. Nolan sprawls well.
Nolan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nolan wants it to stay on the feet.
Christian Nolan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Thompson.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Nolan.
Nolan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Thompson.
Nolan leaves Thompson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nolan lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Thompson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Thompson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Nolan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Thompson's calf.
A big left from Nolan misses.
Thompson goes for a double leg but Nolan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nolan continues to drive forward.
Nolan lands with a left to the head.
Thompson goes for a takedown attempt but Nolan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thompson shoots in and bounces Nolan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Nolan controlling the position.
Thompson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Thompson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Nolan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nolan seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Thompson throws a big right hand that misses.
Nolan is trying to keep Thompson in close.
Thompson lands a couple of digs.
Nolan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thompson defends it easily.
Nolan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Thompson told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nolan is pulling down on Thompson's head. It's preventing any offense from Thompson, at least for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson throws a big right hand that misses.
Thompson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Nolan is looking to cinch up a triangle. Thompson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Nolan's body to avoid the submission. Nolan has instead reached around Thompson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Nolan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Post fight, Christian Nolan took to the microphone: 'I've been reflecting on my career and life as a whole recently, and I don't like who I've become. This fight was the first I've had without using marijuana, and the results speak for themselves. I have a new mantra - a straight edge focus if you will. I am well.'.
