Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rafael Amaral! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Miller! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Amaral's waist but Amaral gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miller off to one side. Miller is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Amaral misses with a body kick. Amaral throws the left hand but Miller avoids the punch easily. Miller takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Amaral lands with a kick to the temple. Miller shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Amaral lands an overhand right. Amaral throws a right hand that Miller ducks under and follows up with a left that Miller also avoids with ease. Amaral has been working on his boxing with his coaches at MMA Gods - 16 Elites! + Roger Gracie in the buildup to the fight. Miller throws a nice looking combination but Amaral bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Amaral misses with a double jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Miller is trying hard to land a takedown here. Amaral sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Amaral throws a right hand that Miller ducks under and follows up with a left that Miller also avoids with ease. Amaral throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Miller. Miller fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rafael Amaral has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Miller. Miller throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miller. Donk. Amaral catches Miller right on the button with a cross.
Miller is rocked! Miller throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Miller throws a body punch but Amaral moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Amaral moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Amaral connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Miller to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Amaral!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rafael Amaral! After winning the bout, Rafael Amaral thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
