Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ron Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Fitzsimmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Kelly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Fitzsimmons! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelly throws a body punch but Fitzsimmons moves out of range. Kelly scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Fitzsimmons moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kelly stands and steps away. Fitzsimmons gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kelly avoids a kick to the body.
Kelly on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Kelly walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nice jab there from Fitzsimmons. Kelly walks into a left hand. Fitzsimmons doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. We've been informed that Fitzsimmons has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Fitzsimmons scores with a nice body kick.
Kelly throws a right and a left that both miss. Fitzsimmons dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Fitzsimmons scores with a leg kick.
Kelly throws a right hand that Fitzsimmons ducks under and follows up with a left that Fitzsimmons also avoids with ease. Jim Fitzsimmons is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fitzsimmons lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kelly on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kelly on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Fitzsimmons scores with a body shot.
Kelly keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kelly swings widly with a right hand
and Fitzsimmons counters with a stiff right hand. Kelly throws a push kick but Fitzsimmons slaps the foot to one side. Fitzsimmons throws a body kick that misses letting Kelly counter with a right hand. Fitzsimmons scores with a hook.
Kelly is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Kelly pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Oh Kelly is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fitzsimmons lands a slapping body shot.
Kelly looks up at the clock. Bad move! Fitzsimmons lands a right hand from hell, dropping Kelly. Fitzsimmons pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Fitzsimmons! Jim Fitzsimmons took some time post fight to say the following; 'Better luck next time, old chum!'.
