Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lei Kung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lei Kung has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Paul Jones's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lei Kung! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kung scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jones doesn't seem bothered though. Kung lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Kung moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Jones has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Ballas Only in the buildup to the fight. Kung slips under a jab from Jones. Kung lands with a straight right. Jones didn't see that one coming. Kung throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily. Jones throws a right and a left that Kung avoids nicely. Kung throws a leg kick and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones. Kung preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jones postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kung is keeping the position for now. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kung keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Kung escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kung utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jones throwing strikes but missing. Jones slips nicely into half guard. Kung wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.

Jones working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones passes to side control. Jones is chipping away with strikes.
Jones working away. Kung felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Jones wants to control but Kung is keeping him busy. Jones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kung is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Jones throws a strike aimed at the side of Kung's head but Kung avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kung is not content to let Jones control the position. Jones advances nicely into full mount. Jones punishing his opponent with strikes. Jones breaks from Kung's wrist control and lands an elbow. Jones lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Jones cracks Kung with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kung slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Jones works his way into side control. Jones throwing shots but missing, from side control. Jones in side control, throwing shots but Kung defends.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kung sneaks back into half guard. Jones is looking to take a break and control but Kung is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kung manages to get to full guard.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Kung gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kung postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kung trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Jones dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kung throws out a leg kick but Jones moves out of range and Kung only half commits. Kung slips under a jab from Jones. Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kung.

Kung lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Jones keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kung. Kung needs to keep his hands up - Jones had a free shot at his head there. Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kung can do to turn this around? Jones staying out of range there. Jones drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kung sprawls and moves away. Kung connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Jones takes one on the button.
It looks like Paul Jones has been cut. Jones has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kung. Kung throws a leg kick that is checked and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Jones working the ground and pound effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kung really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kung keeps trying to improve his position. Jones scoring with strikes but Kung is staying in there. Kung is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Kung wants to control but Jones is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Paul Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kung is rocked! Kung takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Jones's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
