Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Carney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carney's entrance music is T.I. - Every Chance I get. A fine choice. Palmer has chosen GSP - Not Impressed as his entrance music. Santiago Palmer told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer misses with a wild body shot.
Carney slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Carney uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Palmer.

Palmer takes one on the chin but seems OK.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Palmer has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Palmer has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Palmer wants to stand and escape but Carney is having none of it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Carney throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Palmer's waist but Palmer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carney off to one side.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Palmer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Palmer won't allow Carney to sweep him here.
Palmer is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Carney has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Palmer is looking to defend but Carney has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Palmer! Carney pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Palmer taps out and this one is all over!

Santiago Palmer spoke after the fight, saying 'Rodney is just a better fighter than me. He beat me twice! What can a say? I don't know because I called him out and I lost. '.
