The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luatua swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Zakoyan throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Luatua dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Zakoyan misses with a leg kick.
Luatua is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Zakoyan ducks right into an uppercut from Luatua.
A telegraphed right hand from Luatua misses the target.
Luatua moves out of range as Zakoyan strikes.
Luatua thinks about countering with a body kick.
Sarkis Zakoyan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zakoyan throws a combination that misses
and Luatua counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zakoyan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Luatua counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Zakoyan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Luatua.

Zakoyan feints and as Luatua raises his hands in defense, Zakoyan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Zakoyan looking to sit in guard and control but Luatua gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Zakoyan has his hands on Luatua's head, controlling the position.
Zakoyan controls Luatua momentarily but Luatua frees himself.
Zakoyan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Luatua looking to pass the guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Luatua trying to control but Zakoyan is working from the bottom.
Zakoyan has control of Luatua's left arm, preventing Luatua from doing any damage.
Luatua wants to control from the top but Zakoyan keeps moving.

Luatua stays in close to Zakoyan's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Luatua swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Zakoyan throws a leg kick
and Luatua counters with a right hand to the body.
Zakoyan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Luatua counters with a straight right hand.

Luatua lands a big uppercut and Zakoyan crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Zakoyan looks OK. Luatua waves Zakoyan back to his feet!

Zakoyan is rocked!
Zakoyan gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Luatua points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Zakoyan wakes up just in time to hear Luatua thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

After winning the bout, Robbie Luatua thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
