Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blake Bender (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Stapleton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). He arrived on a last minute flight shortly after looking tired and unhappy. Officials decided the fight should still take place, much to the delight of the fans in attendance.
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blake Bender and Jeremy Stapleton. Stapleton has chosen Stick To Your Guns - Against Them All as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blake Bender!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Stapleton!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping body kick lands there for Stapleton.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Stapleton, as that shot connected.


It looks like Blake Bender has been cut.
Bender throws a right hand that misses
and Stapleton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Good work by Bender as he checks the leg kick.
Bender throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
It seemed like Stapleton was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Nice jab there from Bender.


It looks like Jeremy Stapleton has been cut.
Bender misses with a looping left.
Bender misses with a two punch combination.
Stapleton swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Stapleton cracks Bender with an uppercut from hell and Bender crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Stapleton's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


Bender is rocked!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Stapleton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bender swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oh Bender is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stapleton is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bender seems to have got his legs back now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stapleton trying to control but Bender is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stapleton tries to free his leg and advance position but Bender is retaining full guard.
Stapleton won't allow Bender to sweep him here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bender comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Stapleton avoids the body shot from Bender.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bender uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stapleton.
Bender misses with a hook to the body
enabling Stapleton to counter with a crisp jab.
Stapleton walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Bender checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bender darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bender staying out of range there.
Bender throws a hook but Stapleton avoids it easily.
Bender moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A swing and a miss from Bender.
Stapleton bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bender's head backwards.
Stapleton throws a low kick but Bender avoids it.
Bender scores with a jab to the body.
Bender scores with a nice right hand.
Bender fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Stapleton throws the left hand but Bender avoids the punch easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A punch combination from Bender misses.
Stapleton just misses with a punch to the body.
Stapleton lands with a thumping leg kick.
Bender scores with a jab.
Bender slips a jab from Stapleton.
Bender missing with a left hand there. Stapleton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bender looks to land a right hand but Stapleton moved out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Stapleton! But no joy.
Stapleton on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


Stapleton is rocked!
Bender walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Stapleton drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Bender swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Stapleton's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Blake Bender!
