The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matus walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Helix checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Helix tries to counter with a takedown but Matus is quick to defend against it.

and Matus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Matus has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Matus avoids a strike by Helix and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Helix's guard! Fantastic escape!
Matus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Helix feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Billy Helix will probably get the nod.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Matus! Helix is out on his feet! Matus rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Helix is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Helix is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
