The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago tries to clinch but Carney is having none of it.
It seemed like Carney was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Carney has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Carney swats away the attempt to clinch by Santiago.

Carney sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Santiago's guard.
Carney is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Santiago!

Santiago knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carney on the ground.

Santiago has left one of his arms exposed and Carney doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Santiago screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
