Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Flash Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Sturd Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sturd Jr comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Waka Flocka Flame - 50K (Neon Dreams Remix) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jason Sturd Jr enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Flash Gordon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Sturd Jr! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gordon slips under a jab. Sturd Jr throws a head kick but Gordon moves out of range.
Sturd Jr tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Gordon on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sturd Jr. Sturd Jr obviously looking to wear him down.
Gordon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gordon's corner calls for a 1-2. Gordon obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like Jason Sturd Jr has been cut. Sturd Jr shoots in looking for a takedown but Gordon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sturd Jr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That kick from Gordon tenderised Sturd Jr's leg. Sturd Jr is trying to keep his angry face on. Gordon connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sturd Jr momentarily.
Gordon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sturd Jr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A decent looking body kick lands there for Gordon. Gordon connects with a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sturd Jr takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

That's one minute gone in the round. Sturd Jr throws a leg kick but Gordon moved away. Gordon is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Sturd Jr throws a leg kick that is checked and Gordon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sturd Jr throws a leg kick but Gordon sees it coming and moves out of range. Gordon throws a predictable looking body shot
and Sturd Jr counters with a lovely straight right hand! Sturd Jr shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Sturd Jr steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Gordon. That one must have hurt. We've been informed that Sturd Jr has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Sturd Jr walks into a left hand. Gordon thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Sturd Jr if he has to take too many more of those.
We've been told by Gordon's head coaches at Tosen's Home For Lost Boys that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Sturd Jr throws a leg kick and Gordon counters with a low kick, right behind Sturd Jr 's knee. Sturd Jr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gordon, right into the meat.
Gordon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sturd Jr on the wrong end of a nice jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gordon defending well as Sturd Jr loads up on a big left hand. Sturd Jr tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Sturd Jr misses the shot to the body. Gordon turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Sturd Jr sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Sturd Jr misses with a low kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sturd Jr. Gordon throws a quick inside leg kick. A leg kick checked by Sturd Jr. The fighters circle momentarily. Gordon darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Sturd Jr tries a low kick but Gordon avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gordon explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Gordon is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Gordon throws a leg kick which misses Sturd Jr's front leg but catches the back leg as Sturd Jr tries to avoid it. Sturd Jr tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gordon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sturd Jr somewhat. Flash Gordon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Sturd Jr. Good leg kick by Gordon there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Sturd Jr fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gordon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Gordon tries a low kick but Sturd Jr avoids it. Gordon throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Sturd Jr's head. Sturd Jr blocks a leg kick. Gordon is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gordon lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sturd Jr has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sturd Jr and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jab, jab by Sturd Jr - just one landing. Sturd Jr's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Gordon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sturd Jr. Jab from Gordon. Gordon gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. This has been an exciting period of action! Gordon gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
That has opened up Jason Sturd Jr's cut even more. Gordon lands an elbow inside. Gordon working aggressively here.
Gordon is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sturd Jr is keeping busy. Gordon gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Gordon doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Sturd Jr jumps guard but Gordon turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Still in the clinch, Sturd Jr scores with a nice short uppercut. Sturd Jr can't get the takedown.

Gordon wants to slow Sturd Jr down by chopping away at his legs. It seemed like Sturd Jr was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Gordon shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Good leg kick by Sturd Jr there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab lands there for Gordon. Gordon lands a jab to the head.

Sturd Jr throws a combination that misses and Gordon makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Flash Gordon is winning the standup battle so far. This has been an exciting period of action! Gordon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sturd Jr throws out the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sturd Jr throws a looping overhand right but Gordon ducks down to avoid it. Sturd Jr fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gordon is out of range. Sturd Jr has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sturd Jr there as he acknowledges the shot. Flash Gordon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gordon throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Sturd Jr checks a leg kick. Gordon pushes Sturd Jr away with a front kick. Sturd Jr has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gordon. Sturd Jr takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Gordon stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Gordon lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Gordon buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

It looks like Flash Gordon has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gordon forces Sturd Jr back against the cage and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sturd Jr blocks an elbow strike from Gordon.
Sturd Jr turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Sturd Jr throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Gordon works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Gordon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sturd Jr scores with a couple of nice shots. Sturd Jr is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Gordon controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Sturd Jr thows a huge punch but Gordon dodges it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gordon keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Sturd Jr not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sturd Jr working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Gordon blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sturd Jr. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Gordon trying to control here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Gordon looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sturd Jr crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gordon - the referee stops the clock and Sturd Jr gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gordon. Sturd Jr manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Sturd Jr fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gordon lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Gordon scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The cut above Jason Sturd Jr's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Sturd Jr tried to score with a low kick but Gordon checks it. Gordon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sturd Jr blocks a low kick nicely. A jab from Gordon does it's job there. Gordon feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sturd Jr's calf. Sturd Jr drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gordon defends it well. Gordon tries to land a leg kick but Sturd Jr saw it coming and moves away.

Flash Gordon dominated that second round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Sturd Jr misses with a head shot. Gordon uses the momentum to regain guard. Sturd Jr throwing strikes from guard but Gordon blocks nicely. Sturd Jr throws an elbow that misses. Gordon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sturd Jr's guard. Nice move by Gordon! Sturd Jr seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Gordon stopping the sweep attempt from Sturd Jr.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sturd Jr trying to control the position here. Gordon sitting in guard here, content to control. Gordon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sturd Jr has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Gordon. Gordon turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Gordon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Gordon looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Sturd Jr avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Gordon backing away here, and Sturd Jr unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Sturd Jr checks a leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gordon scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Gordon connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Sturd Jr has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Gordon misses with a low kick. Sturd Jr fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Sturd Jr takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Gordon looks to score with a jab to the body but Sturd Jr is just out of range. Jab by Gordon. Sturd Jr fails with a takedown attempt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sturd Jr decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Flash Gordon showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gordon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
