Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Greg Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Whitehorse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jacob Whitehorse!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitehorse misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Whitehorse throws a right hand that misses
and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Whitehorse tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Whitehorse throws a lazy uppercut
letting Jackson counter with a right hand.
Whitehorse lands with a nice body punch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Whitehorse.
Jackson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Whitehorse misses with a low kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jackson, as that shot connected.
Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Whitehorse, which made it look bad.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson.

Jackson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Whitehorse.
Whitehorse changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Whitehorse throws the left hand but Jackson avoids the punch easily.
Jackson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jackson gets caught flat footed, as Whitehorse shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Whitehorse postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Whitehorse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Whitehorse lands a nice shot that snaps Jackson's head back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A quick step to the side and Jackson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jackson rushes Whitehorse and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Whitehorse fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Whitehorse is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Whitehorse has picked Jackson up - he's going for a ride! Whitehorse dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Whitehorse looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jackson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
My spies in Die Reeperbahn inform me that Whitehorse has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Whitehorse really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Whitehorse paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A little feinted left hand from Jackson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Jackson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Whitehorse throws out the jab.
Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Whitehorse sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Whitehorse is pressed up against the cage. Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Whitehorse down to the mat. Whitehorse avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Whitehorse is just riding it out for now. Jackson eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jackson gets caught napping as Whitehorse dives in and scores a takedown. Jackson manages to retain guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Whitehorse throws a wild body kick that Jackson sees coming a mile off.

Whitehorse scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Jackson is refusing to be controlled, as Whitehorse sits in half guard.
Jackson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Whitehorse scores with a couple of nice shots.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Whitehorse can do anything to dispel that myth.
