Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jarppi Virne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Timmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Virne's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Jeff van Dyck - Soldier's Chant. The crowd seem to be enjoying Timmons 's choice of entrance music: Johnny Cash - Hurt. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Virne staying out of range there.
Virne fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Timmons , pushing him back against the cage.
Timmons struggles to land a body shot inside as Virne controls his hands.
Virne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Timmons breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Virne has taken the fight to the clinch.
Timmons blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Virne tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Timmons stands up from Virne's guard - Timmons perhaps looking for a knockout.
Virne takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Jarppi Virne has been cut.
Timmons throws a right hand that Virne ducks under and follows up with a left that Virne also avoids with ease.
Nice sprawl there from Timmons as Virne shoots in.
Virne moves in looking to clinch but Timmons pushes him off.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Timmons ! But no joy.
Timmons thuds his shin into the meat of Virne's side.
Virne tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Virne takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

We've been hearing reports that Virne has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Virne steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Timmons .
Virne shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Timmons as he avoids it easily.
No joy there for Virne, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Virne tries to clinch but Timmons is having none of it.

Timmons feints and then cracks Virne's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Virne down.

Timmons connects with a leg kick. Virne looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Virne takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Timmons tests Virne's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Nice straight punches there by Timmons . You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Timmons .
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Timmons avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Virne with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Timmons to score with a decent uppercut.
Timmons throws a hook to the side of Virne's head but Virne sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Nice body kick there by Timmons .
Virne is breathing heavily.
Timmons scores with a leg kick.
Timmons lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Virne circles away quickly and effectively.
Virne appears to be looking for a big counter.
Timmons cracks Virne with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Virne is looking to clinch but Timmons is avoiding it.
Timmons with a body punch. A glancing blow.
The fight stays on the outside here - Virne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Virne takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Timmons connects with a superb combination that knocks Virne out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Timmons before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Virne!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bill Timmons !
Bill Timmons decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
