Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregers Westerberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 29 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edward Charles Brock! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Westerberg ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brock moves away. Westerberg throws a series of punches but Brock avoids them all with ease. Westerberg misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brock.
Brock needs to keep his hands up - Westerberg had a free shot at his head there. Westerberg tries to clinch there but Brock circles away.
A swing and a miss from Westerberg. A big left from Westerberg misses. Westerberg throws a big shot that misses. Westerberg looks to land a left hand but Brock moved out of range nicely. Brock fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Westerberg avoids it really well and circles away. Brock has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brock avoids the body shot from Westerberg.
Brock wants to counter the offense by Westerberg and move into the clinch position. A shot to the liver by Westerberg. Beautiful body shot. A low kick from Westerberg misses and Brock counters with a single leg into guard. Westerberg didn't expect that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brock thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Westerberg is trying to control the position but Brock postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Westerberg seems keen to control Brock's posture. Brock advances to half guard. Brock prevents Westerberg from improving his position. Westerberg is looking to control Brock's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Westerberg avoid being mounted? Westerberg moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brock works a leg free and moves into half guard. Brock is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Westerberg doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brock. Westerberg is trying to control but can't.
Brock is looking to advance position but Westerberg won't allow it. Brock trying to control from half guard but Westerberg is working away. Westerberg misses with some strikes from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Brock is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brock wants to work for an arm triangle but Westerberg is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Westerberg manages to get to full guard.
Westerberg controlling the position. Brock content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Brock is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Westerberg is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Westerberg has escaped and now he's on top!
Brock has his foot on Westerberg's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Westerberg works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Westerberg trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Westerberg lands a couple of decent looking shots. Westerberg advances to half guard. Westerberg is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Brock tries to lock up and control but Westerberg gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Brock is working to get back to half guard.
Westerberg breaks from Brock's wrist control and lands an elbow. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Westerberg postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Brock out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Westerberg goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
