Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stanton Crowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Inspectah Deck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crowe comes to the cage accompanied by The Builders & The Butchers - Bringing Home The Rain. The crowd seem to be enjoying Deck's choice of entrance music: Raekwon feat. 27 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stanton Crowe! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Inspectah Deck! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crowe looks to land a left hand but Deck moved out of range nicely. We've been hearing reports that Crowe has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Deck keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Deck checks a leg kick nicely. Deck throws a nice inside leg kick. Deck throws a low kick, looking for Crowe's leg but Crowe calmly moves out of range. Crowe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Deck to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Stanton Crowe has been cut. Deck fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Crowe checks it well. Crowe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Deck manages to avoid it. Deck has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Crowe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Deck moves away. Crowe jabbing away but nothing is landing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Deck takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Crowe dives in and scores a takedown into Deck's guard. Crowe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Crowe wants to control from the top but Deck keeps moving. Deck can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Crowe controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deck is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Deck is taking a breather. Crowe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Deck drops an elbow to the side of Crowe's head. Crowe tries to roll over but Deck keeps him under control. Crowe is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deck is thwarting Crowe's attempts to control the position. Crowe blocking the ground and pound attempt from Deck. Deck thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Crowe moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Crowe wants to sweep but no luck. Crowe is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Deck looking to pass the guard. Deck trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Deck is working Crowe over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Deck postures up in Crowe's guard and throws a big left but Crowe blocks it. Crowe keeping moving, preventing Deck from controlling successfully. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Crowe looking to hit a scissor sweep but Deck is one step ahead there.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Crowe cracks Deck with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. A jab from Deck misses. Crowe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deck wants to counter with a clinch but Crowe pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Deck works the jab nicely. Crowe throws out a leg kick but Deck moves out of range and Crowe only half commits. Crowe misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Deck counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Deck moves out of range of the strikes. Crowe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Deck circles away. Deck chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Deck has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Crowe. Deck lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Crowe throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Deck counters with a lovely straight right hand! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Deck scores with a punch to the head. Crowe avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Deck tests Crowe's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Inspectah Deck dominated that round. The cut man is working on Stanton Crowe's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Deck walks into a left hand. Crowe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Deck throws out the jab. Crowe misses with a low kick. Deck tries to counter with a clinch but Crowe shakes him off and moves away. Deck has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Crowe tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Deck throws the kick towards the body but Crowe avoids it. Crowe is looking to wear down Deck with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Crowe ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Deck throws a body shot but no joy. Deck slips under a jab from Crowe. Crowe walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Crowe misses with a body shot.
Deck only half commits to the counter leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crowe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Deck moves away. Deck appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Deck tries to sprawl but Crowe drives through with a takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Crowe uses his free foot to push down on Deck's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Deck. Crowe scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Deck?
That's one minute gone in the round. Deck wants to hold on but Crowe pushes him away. Crowe with shots to the head and body - Deck looks very uncomfortable down there. Deck is squirming around, avoiding Crowe's attempts to control the action. Crowe lands a heavy elbow. Deck is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crowe landing shots from mount. Crowe tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Crowe has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Deck's face.
Crowe throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Deck slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Crowe is trying to control. Deck wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Deck manages to get to full guard.

Not yet Deck, not yet. Crowe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Crowe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Crowe throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Deck is trying to control Crowe's posture but Crowe avoids it. Deck is looking to reverse the position.

Crowe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Crowe wants to control from the top but Deck keeps moving. Crowe postures up in Deck's guard and throws a big left but Deck blocks it. Crowe slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Crowe postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Crowe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Deck was well out of range. Poor timing from Crowe. Deck has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Crowe takes a swing at Deck's ribcage but misses. Inspectah Deck seems to be getting the better of the standup. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Deck lands a nice looking kick to the body. Crowe takes a step back to recover. Deck clobbers Crowe with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Deck counters with a huge left! Crowe is in big trouble! He's backing up but Deck isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Crowe from any more damage. A dominating finish by Deck!

A relieved looking Inspectah Deck thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
