Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akira Azuma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kabuto Wakizashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kabuto Wakizashi has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Akira Azuma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kabuto Wakizashi! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wakizashi scoring well with a low kick there.
Azuma tries a low kick but Wakizashi avoids it. Azuma scores with a nice strike. Azuma thows a left - swing and a miss! Wakizashi fakes the leg kick and cracks Azuma in the body. Wakizashi's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wakizashi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Azuma misses with a right hand and Wakizashi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Akira Azuma has been cut. Wakizashi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Azuma stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Wakizashi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wakizashi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Azuma shoots in looking for a takedown. Wakizashi tries to sprawl out of it but Azuma keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wakizashi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Azuma misses with a kick to the body and Wakizashi counters with a stiff right hand. Wakizashi throws an overhand right that lands on Azuma's shoulder, as Azuma tries to avoid the shot. Azuma thows a leg kick but Wakizashi checks it and Wakizashi counters with a nice body shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wakizashi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Azuma. Azuma circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Azuma throws the kick towards the body but Wakizashi avoids it. Wakizashi scores with a nice strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Azuma throws a leg kick and Wakizashi counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wakizashi throws an overhand right that lands on Azuma's shoulder, as Azuma tries to avoid the shot. Azuma misses with the combination.

Azuma displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wakizashi throws out the jab. Azuma lands a nice looking body kick. Wakizashi walks into a stiff left hand from Azuma. Wakizashi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Azuma. Wakizashi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Wakizashi blocks a body shot from Azuma. Azuma tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Azuma throws a head punch that misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Azuma managing to block the knees to the body from Wakizashi.
Azuma has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Wakizashi regains guard immediately. Wakizashi wants to get back to his feet but Azuma passes into half guard.
Wakizashi has his hands clasped together around Azuma's back. He's all about the action. Nice strikes from Azuma there. Azuma looks to land a strike but Wakizashi avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wakizashi keeping moving, preventing Azuma from controlling successfully. We've been hearing good reports from Azuma's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Azuma throws an elbow that misses. Wakizashi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Azuma's guard. Nice move by Wakizashi! Azuma keeping moving, preventing Wakizashi from controlling successfully. Azuma trying to keep a closed guard but Wakizashi is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wakizashi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Wakizashi wants to control from the top but Azuma keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Azuma is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
