Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ivan Milat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alberto Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Milat throws the kick towards the body but Lopez avoids it.
Milat throws a body shot but no joy.
Lopez feints the counter takedown.
Lopez keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Milat missing with a left hand there. Lopez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Milat misses with a hook. Lopez ducked under it nicely.
Milat tries to land a body kick

Milat bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Milat has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lopez finds it's way round the side to connect with Milat's head.

Milat uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lopez.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lopez, as that shot connected.
Lopez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Lopez has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Milat displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lopez throws out the jab.
Milat tries to close the distance and clinch but Lopez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ivan Milat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

You can see the frustration on Lopez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lopez regains half guard there - taking advantage of Milat's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Lopez has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Oooh a lovely combination from Lopez sends Milat down but not out. Lopez dives into side control looking to finish.

Milat is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Lopez rolls with it to try and escape but Milat cranks on the arm and Lopez is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
