Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kaleva Mansikkamaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Roussow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ken Roussow struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Ken Roussow is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ken Roussow! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mansikkamaa misses with a jab to the body
and Roussow counters by moving into the clinch. Roussow trying to land knees to the body.
Mansikkamaa stalling in the clinch but Roussow improves position. Roussow manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Roussow lands with a light punch inside.
It looks like Kaleva Mansikkamaa has been cut. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mansikkamaa. Roussow blocks an uppercut.
Mansikkamaa has Roussow pushed against the cage. Mansikkamaa misses with some punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mansikkamaa lands a shoulder strike. Mansikkamaa tries a body shot but Roussow blocks it.
Roussow is trying to break the clinch but Mansikkamaa has him pressed against the cage. Mansikkamaa lands with a short shot to the head. Mansikkamaa misses with a hook from the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mansikkamaa misses with a hook from the clinch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Mansikkamaa tries to work over Roussow's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Roussow wants the takedown. Mansikkamaa is fighting it off but Roussow persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mansikkamaa's guard against the cage. Roussow is working Mansikkamaa over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Mansikkamaa trying to keep a closed guard but Roussow is proving a slippery customer.
Roussow is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mansikkamaa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mansikkamaa tries to get out of the position. Roussow stops Mansikkamaa from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roussow drops back looking for a leg! Mansikkamaa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mansikkamaa manages to kick Roussow off! Roussow jumps back into Mansikkamaa's guard. Roussow stays in close to Mansikkamaa's body and controls the position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Roussow looking to pass the guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mansikkamaa with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Mansikkamaa lands a slapping body shot.
Mansikkamaa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Roussow manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Roussow pushes Mansikkamaa up against the cage in a clinch. Roussow wants the takedown. Mansikkamaa is fighting it off but Roussow persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mansikkamaa's guard against the cage. Roussow is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Let's hope that Roussow has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roussow gets to his feet - Mansikkamaa follows without any prompting. Mansikkamaa throws a looping overhand right but Roussow ducks down to avoid it. Roussow looks like he wants to counter punch here. Mansikkamaa lunges at Roussow with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Roussow's hand. Mansikkamaa is looking to score with low kicks. Roussow takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Ken Roussow has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mansikkamaa connects with the punch. Roussow scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Mansikkamaa scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Roussow manages to mount him!
Roussow sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Mansikkamaa is just holding on here. Roussow manages to take his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ken Roussow will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Roussow tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Mansikkamaa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Roussow manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Roussow tries to clinch and Mansikkamaa counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Mansikkamaa scores with a nice right hand.
Mansikkamaa gets a clinch. Mansikkamaa is pushing Roussow up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Roussow jumps guard.
Mansikkamaa wanted to stand there but Roussow had control of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roussow pulls Mansikkamaa in close to his closed guard and prevents Mansikkamaa from doing any damage or advancing position. Mansikkamaa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mansikkamaa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Roussow is proving hard to escape from.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roussow has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Roussow is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Roussow trying to strike off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Roussow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mansikkamaa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mansikkamaa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Roussow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mansikkamaa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Roussow is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Mansikkamaa frees his head nicely. Oh but Roussow has switched to an armbar! Mansikkamaa is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
