Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Devon Sherwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Whitehorse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherwood kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Devil on my shoulder. Devon Sherwood had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devon Sherwood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jacob Whitehorse! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitehorse takes a swing at Sherwood's ribcage but misses. Whitehorse throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sherwood's waist but Sherwood gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Whitehorse off to one side. Sherwood definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Whitehorse does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Sherwood throwing a counter right hand but Whitehorse manages to avoid it. Whitehorse attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. A leg kick checked by Sherwood. Sherwood appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Whitehorse moves to clinch but Sherwood breaks away so Sherwood counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whitehorse preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Sherwood missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Whitehorse wants to sweep but no luck. Whitehorse is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sherwood wants to control from the top but Whitehorse keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherwood throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sherwood throws a strike but Whitehorse rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sherwood looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sherwood knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Whitehorse on the ground. Whitehorse trying to control the position from guard on top but Sherwood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Whitehorse stands up over Sherwood, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Whitehorse stopping the sweep attempt from Sherwood. Whitehorse is in close to Sherwood's body, working some short punches and elbows. Whitehorse distracts Sherwood with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Whitehorse is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Sherwood wants to sweep here but Whitehorse controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whitehorse showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Whitehorse scoring with some ground and pound. Whitehorse throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Whitehorse keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sherwood's head. Whitehorse lands a couple of digs. Whitehorse looking to sit in guard and control but Sherwood gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Sherwood wants to pass the guard but Whitehorse is keeping the position. Sherwood throwing strikes from guard but Whitehorse blocks nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherwood distracts Whitehorse with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Whitehorse is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Whitehorse lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Whitehorse working over Sherwood with some ground and pound. Sherwood looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Whitehorse is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sherwood! Whitehorse raining down hammerfists from mount. Whitehorse looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Whitehorse cracks Sherwood with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We've been informed that Whitehorse has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. BOOM! Whitehorse connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Whitehorse unloading with bombs! Whitehorse has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Whitehorse working Sherwood over with strikes here.
Sherwood is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sherwood is bucking up trying to escape but Whitehorse cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Oh Sherwood is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Whitehorse working the ground and pound effectively.
Sherwood on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sherwood tries to get out of the position. Sherwood is trying to escape the mount.
Whitehorse looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Sherwood covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacob Whitehorse! A relieved looking Jacob Whitehorse thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. In defeat, Devon Sherwood stepped up to the mic, saying 'Devil takes care of his own...,I'll be back!!!'.
