Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timur Rubin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cyril Makarenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cyril Makarenko told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubin has a takedown stuffed.
Makarenko unleashes a big counter combination but Rubin bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Makarenko has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Makarenko feints and then cracks Rubin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rubin down.

Rubin shoots in looking for a takedown. Makarenko tries to sprawl out of it but Rubin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Makarenko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Timur Rubin will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Makarenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rubin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Makarenko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Timur Rubin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rubin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
