PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Sloan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones's entrance music is mama said knock you out. A fine choice. Jim Jones had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

He must have been on the weights. Jones moves forwards but Sloan connects with a nice, crisp jab. Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Sloan counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones takes one on the button. Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Jones misses with a takedown and Sloan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! and Sloan counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Jones!
