Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lamar Thompkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jen Seng!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Seng is fending him off so far but Thompkins persists. Nope, Seng circles away and we're back to standing.
Seng moves into range and connects with a jab.
A punch lands to the side of Thompkins 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Seng throws a looping overhand right but Thompkins ducks down to avoid it.
Thompkins tries to counter with a takedown but Seng is quick to defend against it.
Thompkins definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Thompkins avoids the body shot from Seng.
Seng fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thompkins looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Seng is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thompkins.
Thompkins throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Seng sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Seng throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Seng fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thompkins has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thompkins connects with a right hand. Seng shakes it off.
Thompkins shoots in for a double leg but Seng sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Thompkins takes one to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Seng thuds his right hand into Thompkins's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Thompkins keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Seng takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Seng throws out a loose jab but Thompkins uses good head movement to avoid it.
Seng connects with a right hand. Thompkins shakes it off.
Thompkins walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Thompkins misses with a takedown attempt
and Seng cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lamar Thompkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Seng buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Thompkins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Seng napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thompkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thompkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Thompkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Seng is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Thompkins is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Seng knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Seng is trying to control Thompkins's posture but Thompkins avoids it.
Thompkins tries to move into full mount but can't pass Seng's legs.

Seng tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Seng regains half guard.
Seng looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Thompkins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Thompkins is pressing down on Seng's thigh, looking to free his foot. Seng is holding on for now.

Thompkins seems to be looking for submissions.

Seng tries to roll over but Thompkins keeps him under control.

Thompkins is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jen Seng dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Seng smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Seng scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Seng looks to score with a jab to the body but Thompkins is just out of range.
Seng has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Thompkins throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Seng fakes the leg kick and cracks Thompkins in the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Seng.
Seng is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Thompkins or perhaps it was just good defense by Seng, which made it look bad.
Seng takes a swing at Thompkins's ribcage but misses.
Thompkins half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Seng throws a body shot but no joy.
Seng has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Seng uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Thompkins has time to react.
Seng ducks under a wild hook from Thompkins.
Seng appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Seng slips a jab and a cross from Thompkins.
Thompkins throws a hook to the side of Seng's head but Seng sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Seng misses with a wild body shot.
Jen Seng is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thompkins avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Thompkins drops down looking for a counter takedown but Seng sprawls and moves away.
Jen Seng seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Seng tries to throw a body punch but Thompkins avoids it by throwing Seng back against the cage.
Seng swings wildly with an uppercut but Thompkins uses good head movement to avoid it.
Seng lands with a short head shot on the inside.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Thompkins gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Thompkins is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are battling for position here. Seng manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Seng can do anything to dispel that myth.

Thompkins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Seng manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Thompkins has Seng in his guard.

Seng is looking to stand up but Thompkins won't let him.

Thompkins is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Seng rolls with it to try and escape but Thompkins cranks on the arm and Seng is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
