Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Troy Resic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Gustav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Troy Resic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carl Gustav! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gustav lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Resic at a distance.
Resic ducks under a wild hook from Gustav. Gustav keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Resic swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gustav counters with a three punch combo that has Resic backing up. Resic nods at Gustav to acknowledge the strikes. Resic darts in trying to clinch and Gustav counters with a straight right hand. Gustav misses with a jab, cross combination.
Resic appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Resic tries for a takedown but Gustav circles away easily and Gustav counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Resic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gustav paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gustav scores with a one two! Resic had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Gustav scores with a hook to the body. Resic takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Resic tries for a takedown but Gustav circles away easily and Gustav counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troy Resic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Resic gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gustav. Resic takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Gustav throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Troy Resic has been cut. Gustav throws a right and a left that both miss. Gustav connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Resic shoots in but Gustav avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gustav misses with a two punch combination.
Resic has his takedown stuffed and Gustav counters with a lovely straight right hand! Resic is breathing heavily. Resic moves to clinch but Gustav breaks away letting Gustav counter with a right hand. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gustav paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Carl Gustav is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Resic takes a body punch but keeps moving. Gustav lands with a straight right. Resic didn't see that one coming. Gustav throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Resic is rocked! Resic tries to move into range but Gustav moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Oh Resic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Gustav connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Gustav has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Gustav scores with a body shot.

Resic looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Gustav drops Resic with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Resic! Gustav dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
