With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marco Tomassoni!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomassoni tries to clinch up but McGowan circles away and keeps his distance.
Tomassoni wants to clinch but McGowan slips to the side
and McGowan counters with a stiff right hand.
McGowan jabs Tomassoni right on the nose. Tomassoni blinks but takes it well.
McGowan pushes Tomassoni away with a front kick.
Marco Tomassoni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from McGowan - that will leave a mark!
Tomassoni misses with a head kick.

Tomassoni takes the fight into the clinch.

Tomassoni escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McGowan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Tomassoni tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and McGowan counters with a straight right hand.

Tomassoni closes the distance and pushes McGowan back into the ropes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McGowan managing to block the knees to the body from Tomassoni.

McGowan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Tomassoni throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Tomassoni misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from McGowan.
McGowan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Tomassoni backwards.
Tomassoni blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Tomassoni pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McGowan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Tomassoni as McGowan tries to tie him up.

McGowan gets through Tomassoni's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
McGowan trying to control the position but instead, Tomassoni has worked for underhooks and has pushed McGowan into the ropes.
Tomassoni lands a damaging elbow.

McGowan throws a punch but it's blocked by Tomassoni.
McGowan prevents a body shot from Tomassoni.
A right hand to the body from Tomassoni.
McGowan lands a body punch in the clinch.
McGowan lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McGowan scores with a knee to the head.

Tomassoni breaks from the clinch.
Tomassoni chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McGowan can pounce on him.
McGowan connects with a crisp jab.
Neil McGowan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tomassoni throws a series of punches but McGowan avoids them all with ease.
Tomassoni wants to clinch up but McGowan keeps it at a distance.
Tomassoni misses with a wild combination.
Tomassoni misses with the body kick
and McGowan counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tomassoni's knee momentarily.
McGowan lands a nice hook to Tomassoni's body. Tomassoni takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tomassoni has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
McGowan thuds his shin into the meat of Tomassoni's side.
A cross from McGowan lands.
Tomassoni tries to score with a low kick but McGowan moves his leg out of the way.
Tomassoni takes a swing at McGowan's ribcage but misses.
McGowan circles away from the clinch attempt.

Tomassoni gets a clinch.
McGowan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tomassoni blocks it with crossed arms.

Tomassoni wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

McGowan working aggressively here.

McGowan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Tomassoni breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Tomassoni drives through and clinches with McGowan against the ropes.

Tomassoni manages to break the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McGowan connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
McGowan scores with a three punch combo!


Tomassoni is rocked!
A head kick misses from Tomassoni.
Tomassoni is still on wobbly legs! Can McGowan finish him?
Tomassoni moves in looking to clinch but McGowan pushes him off.
Tomassoni tries to clinch but fails miserably
and McGowan counters with a stiff right hand.
McGowan clobbers Tomassoni with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
McGowan scores with a nice body kick.
Tomassoni looks to clinch
and McGowan counters with a right, followed by a huge uppercut that sends Tomassoni crashing to the mat! Tomassoni is trying to use the ropes to get back to his feet but he's all over the place - the referee has seen enough and has stopped the fight! McGowan screams with a mixture of joy and relief, whilst celebrating with his cornermen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Neil McGowan!
Neil McGowan tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
