Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Barack Obama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Oketch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Barack Obama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vincent Oketch!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Obama.
Obama moves forwards but Oketch connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Obama misses with a jab, cross combination.
Oketch lands a body shot.
A jab from Oketch does it's job there.
Oketch goes for a double leg but Obama avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Obama continues to drive forward.

Obama drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Obama working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Obama is trying to get an arm triangle but Oketch is defending well.

Oketch is looking for a sweep.
Oketch is still trying to improve position.

Obama working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Obama goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Oketch has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Obama but great work by Oketch.
Oketch wants to control but Obama is keeping him busy.
I've been told that Oketch has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

Obama tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Oketch presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Obama is squirming around, avoiding Oketch's attempts to control the action.
Oketch is landing with some decent strikes but Obama is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Obama is bucking up trying to escape but Oketch cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oketch can't control as he wanted to and Obama manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Obama is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Oketch scores with a couple of nice shots.
Obama is looking to improve his position.
Oketch winds up and cracks Obama with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Oketch is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Obama is looking for a sweep. Oketch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Oketch is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Obama reverses the position - he's now on top in Oketch's guard.

Obama pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Oketch is keeping the position for now.
Obama trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Oketch manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!


Obama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oketch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oketch is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Obama is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Oketch thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Obama is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Oketch's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Vincent Oketch has got the better of the ground game so far.
Obama wants to get back to full guard but Oketch has passed into side control.

Obama is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Oketch is aware though and is defending well.

Obama can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Oketch controls the pace.
Oketch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Oketch stands up over Obama, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Vincent Oketch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Obama stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Oketch.
Oketch moves into range and connects with a jab.

Oketch tries to keep at a distance but Obama has taken the fight into the clinch.

Obama pulls guard successfully.
Oketch tries to free his leg and advance position but Obama is retaining full guard.

Oketch drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Obama manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Oketch has Obama in his guard.


Oketch looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Obama works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Oketch is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Obama's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Obama's back!

Oketch has managed to slip his arm under Obama's chin. This could be all over... yep, Obama is tapping out! Submission win for Oketch.

A relieved looking Vincent Oketch thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
