The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herring will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Herring shoots and misses
and Whittaker counters with a straight right hand.
Herring throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Whittaker's waist but Whittaker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Herring off to one side.

Otis Whittaker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Heath Herring.

Whittaker fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Herring looks winded!
Whittaker connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Herring covering up! Whittaker comes in with a big uppercut and Herring goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Otis Whittaker!
As Otis Whittaker got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Chump!'.
