The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andrei shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tavares is trying to defend but Andrei finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are battling for position here. Tavares manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Tavares looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tavares controls Andrei momentarily but Andrei frees himself.
Andrei must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Andrei is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Tavares has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Andrei is looking to defend but Tavares has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Andrei! Tavares pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Andrei taps out and this one is all over!
