Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ken Roussow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Victor Steel! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Steel misses. Steel walks into a left hand. Roussow misses the shot to the body. A big left from Steel misses. Steel shoots in for a takedown but Roussow shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Roussow attempts a counter takedown but Steel avoids it well and moves away. Roussow lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Steel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Roussow sees it coming and avoids it easily. Roussow tries to counter with a takedown but Steel is quick to defend against it. Victor Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steel throws a series of punches but Roussow moves out of range. Steel lands a nice hook to Roussow's body. Roussow takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Roussow dodges the punch combination from Steel.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice jab there from Roussow. Steel fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Steel throws a poor cross that misses
and Roussow counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Roussow accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Steel working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Roussow. Steel looking for a sweep. Not yet Steel, not yet. Roussow working some strikes from top position. Roussow with a flurry of punches that miss. Roussow stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Steel throws up his legs and catches Roussow in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Roussow tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Steel! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Victor Steel! Post fight, an emotional Victor Steel said 'Add that to the list of victims. Who is next?'.
