The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ploy connects with a looping right hand.
Nice takedown defense from Ploy. No joy for Sammalkorpi on that attempt.
A punch lands to the side of Sammalkorpi 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sammalkorpi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ploy did well to prevent Sammalkorpi getting side control.

Sammalkorpi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ploy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ploy scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sammalkorpi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ploy defends well and Sammalkorpi ends up having to push Ploy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sammalkorpi connects with a nice short shot to Ploy's temple.
