Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marius Gladius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marius Gladius struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gladius shoots in and bounces Young off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Young could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gladius wants to control from the top but Young keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gladius slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Gladius got a little sloppy there for a moment and Young has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gladius has managed to get both his arms back between Young's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young is in trouble now - Gladius has advanced to mount!

Gladius is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Young is surviving well by controlling Gladius's body position as best he can.

Young knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gladius on the ground.
Young reaches up and pulls Gladius towards him, trying to control the position. Gladius manages to get a guillotine from the mount though! This could be big trouble for Young! Young tries to roll over - now Gladius is on the bottom but the guillotine is really deep and Young has to tap out! Great work there by Gladius!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Marius Gladius!
After the fight, Marius Gladius was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
