Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stanton Crowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anakoni Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crowe comes to the cage accompanied by The Builders & The Butchers - Bringing Home The Rain. Kai is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Firestarter. Anakoni Kai will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crowe misses with an uppercut. Kai saw that one coming.
Crowe fails with the takedown
and Kai cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Stanton Crowe has been cut.
Crowe lands a right hook to the body.
Crowe darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kai manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Crowe steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kai.

Kai felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Kai gets back to half guard.
Kai is looking to improve his position.
Crowe thows a huge punch but Kai dodges it nicely.
Crowe lands strikes from half guard.
We've been hearing that Crowe has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Crowe is stalling here. Kai is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Crowe seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kai has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kai tries to advance to mount but Crowe instead regains half guard.

Kai perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Crowe is doing well to control the position and prevent Kai from advancing to side control.

Crowe looking for a sweep. Not yet Crowe, not yet.
Kai slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Crowe pulls Kai in close to prevent any damage.

Crowe pulls Kai in close to his closed guard and prevents Kai from doing any damage or advancing position.
Crowe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Crowe seems keen to control Kai's posture.

Crowe scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kai lands with a thumping leg kick.

and Kai counters with a nice body kick.
Kai has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Crowe.
Kai throws a body shot but no joy.
Crowe throws a leg kick which misses Kai's front leg but catches the back leg as Kai tries to avoid it.
Anakoni Kai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kai lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kai throws out a leg kick but Crowe moves out of range and Kai only half commits.
Crowe drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kai sprawls and moves away.
Kai scores with a jab to the head.
Nice straight punches there by Kai. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kai.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Anakoni Kai will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Stanton Crowe's cut.
That's time! Crowe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Crowe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Despite the aggression on Kai's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Kai misses with a leg kick
and Crowe counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kai keeping moving, preventing Crowe from controlling successfully.
Crowe postures up in Kai's guard and throws a big left but Kai blocks it.
Kai not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Crowe is looking to work some ground and pound but Kai has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crowe distracts Kai with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kai wants to stand up but Crowe is controlling him.
Kai wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kai ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kai lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Crowe lands a nice looking body kick.

Crowe connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kai throws a push kick but Crowe slaps the foot to one side.
Crowe half committed to a counter leg kick.
Kai tests Crowe's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Crowe is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kai thuds his right hand into Crowe's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Stanton Crowe's cut is getting worse.
Crowe moves out of range as Kai strikes.
Kai drops Crowe with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Crowe looks back up at him and smiles so Kai waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Crowe is rocked!
Kai has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kai throws an uppercut from hell that sends Crowe clean off his feet! He's out cold! Kai stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
