Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ivan Drago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeff Simpson! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drago has a takedown stuffed. Drago shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. As Drago backs off Simpson throws a huge counter combo but Drago manages to avoid it all. Drago has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Drago. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Drago shoots in for a takedown but Simpson shows good takedown defense. Simpson is looking for the big counter here. Simpson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Simpson wants it to stay on the feet. Drago throws an overhand right that lands on Simpson's shoulder, as Simpson tries to avoid the shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drago looks to land a body kick but Simpson moved away. Drago fails to land the takedown. Drago misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Drago looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Excellent takedown into side control there by Drago. Simpson pushes Drago away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Drago gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Drago thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Drago tries for a kimura but Simpson is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Drago is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Simpson has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drago has hold of Simpson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Simpson seems comfortable defending it but Drago has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Simpson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Simpson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Drago couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ivan Drago!
