Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jon Parlow!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Belcher!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parlow uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Belcher shoots in for a takedown but Parlow shows good takedown defense.
Belcher fails with the takedown
and Parlow counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Parlow scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Belcher doesn't seem bothered though.
Parlow connects with the punch.


It looks like Jake Belcher has been cut.

Belcher feints and as Parlow raises his hands in defense, Belcher changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Parlow wants to sweep here but Belcher controlling him for the moment.
Belcher passes into half guard.
Parlow avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Belcher.
Belcher looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Parlow is looking for a sweep. Belcher is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Parlow is working hard here to advance position.
Belcher frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Parlow is trying to escape the mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Belcher cracks Parlow with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Parlow really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Parlow is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
BOOM! Belcher connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Belcher connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Belcher scoring with strikes but Parlow is staying in there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Belcher breaks from Parlow's wrist control and lands an elbow.


Parlow is rocked!
Belcher loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Parlow scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Belcher land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Belcher stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Belcher!
Jake Belcher is the new welterweight champion!
During a confident post fight interview, Jake Belcher thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
