Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Darko Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darko Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fabricio Werdum! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Werdum throws a head kick but Cruz moves out of range.
Cruz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Werdum circles away. Cruz dives in for a single leg takedown but Werdum sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. A little jabbing left from Werdum on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Cruz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Werdum. Cruz tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Werdum manages to circle out of the way. Cruz dives in for a single leg takedown but Werdum sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Werdum has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darko Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Werdum jabs Cruz right on the nose. Cruz blinks but takes it well.
It looks like Darko Cruz has been cut. Cruz fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cruz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cruz passes easily into side control. Nice work. Cruz in side control, throwing shots but Werdum defends. Werdum is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Werdum prevents Cruz from improving position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz decides to take the fight back to the feet. Cruz shoots in for a takedown but Werdum shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Cruz shoots in but no luck this time. Fabricio Werdum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cruz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Nice sprawl there from Werdum as Cruz shoots in. Cruz is breathing heavily. Werdum tries a head kick but it misses.
Cruz appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Oooooh!!! Werdum has knocked Cruz down with a huge combo! Werdum steps away and waves a wobbly Cruz back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Werdum jabs Cruz to the body, keeping him at a distance. Cruz walks straight into a right hand from Werdum - that's dropped him! Werdum jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Cruz from any more punishment! Cruz complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Fabricio Werdum! An out of breath Fabricio Werdum thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
