Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joey Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dino Bagatin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dino Bagatin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joey Black! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dino Bagatin! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Black tries to bum rush Bagatin with a series of wild strikes but Bagatin uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bagatin darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Bagatin scores with a leg kick.
Bagatin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Bagatin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Black to score an easy takedown into full guard. Black is in close to Bagatin's body, working some short punches and elbows. Black working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Black is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Black scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Black might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Black postures up in Bagatin's guard and throws a big left but Bagatin blocks it. Black has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Black with a nice head shot there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black throws a big elbow that misses. Bagatin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Black. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Black loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Black won't allow Bagatin to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Black throws an elbow that misses. Bagatin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Black's guard. Nice move by Bagatin! Black is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Black is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Bagatin is refusing to be controlled, as Black sits in half guard. Black not landing any meaningful shots this time. Black missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Black throwing shots but Bagatin is blocking nicely. Black not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ground and pound from Black. Bagatin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Black. Black keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Black wants to take a breather but Bagatin is having none of it. Black throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Black scoring with strikes to the body and head. Black wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bagatin keeps working. Black definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Bagatin is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Black sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bagatin defending well though. Black winds up and cracks Bagatin with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Black not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bagatin looks winded! Black is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Black is stalling here. Bagatin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Black seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bagatin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Black tries to get back to half guard but can't. Black sneaks back into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Black is trying to maintain the position but Bagatin is very close to passing his half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Black manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bagatin stopping the sweep attempt from Black. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joey Black dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Bagatin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Black gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Black throws a leg kick but Bagatin checks it. Bagatin jabbing away but nothing is landing. Black misses with a double jab.
Black lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bagatin backs up against the cage.
Black shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bagatin sprawls well. Bagatin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Black gets slowly back to his feet. Black throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bagatin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Black is in Bagatin's guard. Black trying to control the position from guard on top but Bagatin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bagatin being controlled here, momentarily. Black wants to control from the top but Bagatin keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black won't allow Bagatin to get back to his feet. Black throws a big elbow that misses. Bagatin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bagatin can do anything to dispel that myth. Black trying to control but Bagatin is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Black changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bagatin tries to avoid it but Black manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bagatin to the ground. Bagatin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Black misses with a two punch combination.
Black does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Bagatin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bagatin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bagatin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Bagatin connects with an inside leg kick. Bagatin is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Excellent takedown into side control there by Black. Bagatin is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bagatin pushes Black away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Black gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Black wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bagatin keeps working. Black lands a few punches from side control. Black throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Bagatin takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Black misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Black throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Black lands a few punches from side control. Black advances nicely into full mount. Black breaks from Bagatin's wrist control and lands an elbow. Bagatin avoids a series of strikes thrown by Black.
Black has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bagatin's face.
Bagatin is rocked! Oooooh, big shot lands for Black! Bagatin is hurt baaadly! Black is firing away with more strikes - Bagatin is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
