Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allar throws a lazy right hand but Laston sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Laston is looking for a counter combo.
Laston wants to clinch up but Allar keeps it at a distance.
Laston gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Allar has had enough of the clinch but Laston keeps him there for the moment.
Laston gets through Allar's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Allar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Laston takes the fight into the clinch.
Laston misses with a body punch.
Laston digs a right hand underneath Allar's ribcage. Allar let out a lung full of air as it connected.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Allar has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Laston swings away with an uppercut that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laston throws a punch but it's blocked by Allar.
Allar is trying to break the clinch but Laston is controlling him.
Allar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Allar looks to throw the jab but Laston is out of range.

We've been told by Laston's head coaches at Komplete MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Joel Laston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Allar throws a body kick that misses.
Laston went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Allar misses with the combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - Laston looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Laston drives through and clinches with Allar against the cage.
Allar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Allar gets tackled into the cage by Laston. Laston maintains the clinch.

Laston swings wildly with an uppercut but Allar uses good head movement to avoid it.
Laston misses with some punches.

Allar seems to have recovered his senses.
Laston creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Allar with a big uppercut! Allar tries to clinch up but Laston pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Allar to the mat! Allar covers up and Laston unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Joel Laston!
Joel Laston bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
