Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cornelius Carr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Gilas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gilas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Remember The Name - Fort Minor kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cornelius Carr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Neil Gilas! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Gilas misses. Carr with a hook. Gilas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gilas tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Gilas shoots and misses and Carr counters with a stiff right hand. Carr connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gilas's hands. Gilas lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Cornelius Carr has been cut. Gilas looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Carr misses with a straight left. Gilas takes a shot right to the bread basket. The fighters circling - Carr throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Gilas lands a front kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carr lands a leg kick that knocks Gilas off balance momentarily. Carr misses with a leg kick. Gilas turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carr jabs Gilas right on the nose. Gilas blinks but takes it well. Carr connects with the punch. Carr has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Wild Card in the buildup to the fight. Carr lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Carr avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Gilas misses with a jab to the body
and Carr counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Carr throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gilas. Nice jab there from Carr. Carr scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Neil Gilas has been cut. Carr scores with a nice right hand.
Cornelius Carr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carr swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Carr misses with a hook. Gilas ducked under it nicely. Carr scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gilas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gilas closes the distance and clinches up with Carr, looking for a takedown. Gilas pushes Carr against the cage but Carr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A low kick from Gilas misses and Carr counters with a nice uppercut. Cornelius Carr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gilas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Carr changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. A jab lands there for Carr. Gilas looks to land a right hand but Carr moved out of range. Carr listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Carr pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gilas back to the cage. Carr follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Gilas throws a quick inside leg kick. Carr thuds his right hand into Gilas's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Good standup being displayed there by Carr as he connects with a hook.
Gilas is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carr lands a jab to the head.
Gilas is still on wobbly legs! Can Carr finish him? Carr is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Gilas attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Carr thuds a left hand into Gilas's body. Gilas seems to have recovered his senses. Gilas throws an off balance right hand
and Carr counters with a crisp right that sends Gilas to the canvas! Carr follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cornelius Carr! Cornelius Carr decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
