Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sylvester Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Dux will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sylvester Malone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Dux!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Malone moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dux tries to keep at a distance but Malone has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dux prevents a takedown attempt there.

Dux breaks from the clinch.
Dux misses with a few strikes there.
Dux takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Malone looks to score with a jab to the body but Dux is just out of range.
Dux darts in looking for a takedown but Malone gets double underhooks and turns Dux into the cage.
Dux has a takedown stuffed.
Malone scores with a nice strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dux throws a series of punches but Malone moves out of range.
Malone has been working on his balance at Montreal Fighter's Gym (5* Sparring), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Dux.
Dux misses with a takedown attempt - Malone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sylvester Malone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Dux.
Dux is looking to score with low kicks.
Dux has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Dux fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Malone is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dux.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Malone tests Dux's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Dux takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Malone scores with a body shot.
John Dux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Malone feints and as Dux raises his hands in defense, Malone changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Malone is working Dux over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Malone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Malone scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Malone is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Dux has his foot on Malone's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malone works his way back into a safe position though.

Dux isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Malone stacks Dux on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Malone!

Malone grinds an elbow into Dux's temple.
Dux is still in real trouble! Can Malone finish him?
Dux is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Malone is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dux knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Malone lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dux tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Malone presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Dux tries to reverse the position but Malone maintains control.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Dux wants to control but Malone is having none of it.
Malone tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Malone lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Malone cracks Dux with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sylvester Malone!
During a confident post fight interview, Sylvester Malone thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
