Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Kanitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vadim Nazarov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nazarov is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Fade to Black" by Metallica. Vadim Nazarov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Kanitz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 14 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vadim Nazarov! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kanitz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nazarov moves away. Nazarov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kanitz circles away quickly and effectively. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nazarov. Kanitz throws a quick counter kick to the body but Nazarov avoids it. Kanitz ducks under a wild hook from Nazarov. Nazarov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kanitz. Kanitz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nazarov sees it coming and avoids it easily. Nazarov misses with a hook. Kanitz looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

A quick step to the side and Kanitz tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Kanitz seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Kanitz keeps Nazarov at a distance using the push kick. Kanitz feints and then cracks Nazarov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nazarov down. Nazarov takes a shot right to the bread basket. Nazarov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Kanitz scores with a hook to the body. Nazarov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanitz pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nazarov is out of range and Kanitz settles back down. A swing and a miss from Kanitz. Kanitz with a jab. Nazarov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kanitz sprawls well. Kanitz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nazarov gets slowly back to his feet. Simon Kanitz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nazarov fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Simon Kanitz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Kanitz looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Kanitz lands with a shot to the body. Nice sprawl there from Kanitz as Nazarov shoots in. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nazarov scores with a jab to the body. Kanitz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nazarov checks a low kick from Kanitz. Kanitz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Nazarov throws the left hand but Kanitz avoids the punch easily. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Kanitz moves out of range as Nazarov strikes. Kanitz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kanitz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kanitz misses the jab. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kanitz.
Kanitz is looking to wear down Nazarov with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. A solid leg kick lands there for Kanitz.
Kanitz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nazarov. And Kanitz counters with a quick kick to the body but Nazarov blocks it. Nazarov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kanitz. Kanitz digs a good body shot into Nazarov's ribs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nazarov scores with a jab. Kanitz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Nazarov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. An inside leg kick lands from Kanitz. Nazarov throws a body shot but no joy. Kanitz appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Kanitz looks to land a combination. Nazarov sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Nazarov's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. This has been an exciting period of action! Nazarov misses the jab. Kanitz fires out a quick counter leg kick but Nazarov just manages to avoid it. Kanitz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Nazarov. Nazarov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Kanitz tests Nazarov's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kanitz drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Kanitz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nazarov. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Kanitz dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Nazarov lands a glancing blow to the side of Kanitz's head. A shot to the liver by Kanitz. Beautiful body shot. Kanitz works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Kanitz throws a body shot but no joy. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Nazarov might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Kanitz has got the better of the exchanges. Kanitz throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Nazarov counters with a single leg into guard. Kanitz didn't expect that. Kanitz wants to stand and escape but Nazarov is having none of it. Kanitz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nazarov on the ground. Kanitz has momentary wrist control but Nazarov slips an elbow through the middle. Nazarov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kanitz has control of Nazarov's left arm, preventing Nazarov from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nazarov throws a big elbow that misses. Nazarov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kanitz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nazarov is one step ahead there. Nazarov is looking to work some ground and pound but Kanitz has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanitz pulls Nazarov in close to his closed guard and prevents Nazarov from doing any damage or advancing position. Nazarov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A looping hook to the body misses from Nazarov. Kanitz does a little dance to reset his feet. Kanitz swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Nazarov throws the left hand but Kanitz avoids the punch easily. Nazarov walks into a straight right hand from Kanitz. Nazarov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nazarov scores with a nice strike. Nazarov has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nazarov there as he acknowledges the shot. Kanitz connects with an inside leg kick. Nazarov shoots in but Kanitz avoids the takedown attempt easily. As Nazarov backs away, Kanitz returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Simon Kanitz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nazarov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kanitz napping and manages to drive through into side control! This has been an exciting period of action! Nazarov working away. Nazarov misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Kanitz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nazarov can do to turn this around? Kanitz is looking for a sweep. Kanitz parries the strikes from Nazarov easily there. Nazarov is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kanitz to escape.

I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Kanitz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kanitz tries to get out of the position. Sloppy strikes there by Nazarov. The referee takes a look at Kanitz to see if he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kanitz is working to avoid the ground and pound but Nazarov connects with a decent elbow. Kanitz is trying to buck Nazarov off. Nazarov trying to control the action but Kanitz is working from the bottom.

Nazarov cracks Kanitz with an elbow. That is naaassty. Nazarov is working Kanitz over with some ground and pound from side control. Nazarov tries to advance to mount but can't. Kanitz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nazarov was well out of range. Poor timing from Kanitz. Kanitz lands with a shot to the body. As Nazarov backs away, Kanitz returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Nazarov scores with a jab. Kanitz acknowledges it with a nod of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nazarov drops his hands momentarily and Kanitz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Kanitz feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nazarov's calf. Kanitz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Nazarov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kanitz finds it's way round the side to connect with Nazarov's head. Kanitz scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Simon Kanitz showed his dominance in that final round. I think Kanitz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
