Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kano Hokichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gauthier St. Georges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Georges. St. Georges is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Jiu Jitsu. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kano Hokichi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gauthier St. Georges! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! St. Georges clinches with his opponent.
A head punch on the inside from Hokichi fails to land. Hokichi blocks an elbow strike from St. Georges.
Hokichi swings wildly with an uppercut but St. Georges uses good head movement to avoid it. Hokichi lands a hook to the side of the head. Hokichi misses with a punch to the body.
St. Georges pushes off an throws an elbow but Hokichi leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes. St. Georges misses with an elbow over the top. St. Georges's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! St. Georges has a couple of punches blocked by Hokichi.
Hokichi lands a hook that snaps the head of St. Georges backwards. Hokichi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. St. Georges creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hokichi's defenses. St. Georges lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hokichi backwards. A head punch on the inside from Hokichi fails to land. Hokichi content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Hokichi tried to land a shot to the body but connects with St. Georges's elbow. St. Georges lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hokichi avoids a wild elbow strike from St. Georges. St. Georges looks to throw an elbow but misses. St. Georges lands an elbow just above Hokichi 's eye. Hokichi blocks the elbow strike.

St. Georges pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes. Hokichi breaks from the clinch.
St. Georges cracks Hokichi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. The fighters circling - St. Georges throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hokichi misses with a hook. St. Georges ducked under it nicely. St. Georges lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hokichi circles away quickly and effectively. St. Georges throws a series of punches but Hokichi avoids them all with ease. Hokichi throws a quick counter kick to the body but St. Georges avoids it. St. Georges throws a right hand that misses
and Hokichi counters with a solid body kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from St. Georges. St. Georges tries to clinch but Hokichi is having none of it. Hokichi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's two minutes gone in the round. St. Georges drops his hands momentarily and Hokichi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Gauthier St. Georges seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. St. Georges's corner calls for a 1-2. St. Georges obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Kano Hokichi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. St. Georges jabbing away but nothing is landing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. St. Georges closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hokichi's guard. St. Georges trying to control the position from guard on top but Hokichi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. St. Georges sitting in guard here, content to control. St. Georges prevents Hokichi from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hokichi looking for a sweep. Not yet Hokichi, not yet. St. Georges slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. St. Georges looking to pass the guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. St. Georges controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. St. Georges forces Hokichi back against the ropes and clinches. A nice right hand lands inside from St. Georges. St. Georges throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Still in the clinch, Hokichi scores with a nice short uppercut. A head punch on the inside from Hokichi fails to land. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hokichi takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Hokichi blocks the elbow strike.
St. Georges lands a nice elbow. St. Georges throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Hokichi is rocked! A right handed body shot lands from St. Georges.
Oh Hokichi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! St. Georges has Hokichi pressed against the ropes. He pushes Hokichi back and as he springs towards him off the ropes, St. Georges throws a beautiful elbow that sends Hokichi crashing to the floor! St. Georges piles on the pressure with more strikes! Hokichi is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gauthier St. Georges!
